The playground for textile creation — Part of something bigger.
BYBORRE is devoted to change the textile industry for the better. Together with knitters, yarn specialists, developers and designers I was working on functional solutions to trigger a movement of conscious creators.
This movement currently exists of renowned fashion, sportswear, interior and automotive brands like BMW, adidas, Prada and Porter. In the beginning of 2020, BYBORRE introduced design tool Create™, making clear that an intrinsic problem in textile production can be solved, while at the same time paving the way for greater innovation. In 2022 we won the Dutch Design Award - Product for our platform.
My role as Brand Director was to develop the brand’s strategy, guiding creativity, spread our story in both visual design and copy writing and develop concepts for clients like Gore-Tex and The Woolmark company.

Changing the textile industry together.
There is nothing we use more than textiles on and around the body, but often the process before the end-product is not discussed, revealed or simply unknown. In Create™ the supply chain is reversed and thereby the design- and production process works in the opposite direction. Instead of finding a textile that matches the design, creators now can design from the yarn up, making more conscious decisions along the way.
BYBORRE Create™
Building the photoshop for textile creation.
BYBORRE is merging the physical and digital world of the textile industry with the design tool Create™ serving as the portal between both — rewriting the rules of responsible textile creation, by digitizing the design- and production process and the introduction of Textile-as-a-Service. With technology at the core of the company, we are committed to democratize the supply chain through our transparent ecosystem of trailblazers, partners and creators.
My role in developing Create™ was to co-create the design system and building the product’s brand identity, pinning down the storyline and its visual presence.
BYBORRE Editions™
Showcasing innovations, inspiring creators
Serving as a testing ground and showcase to our latest innovations coming out of our knitlab - be that new textiles, innovative yarns from one of our ingrediënt partners or product categories, demonstrating how our textiles can sit in previously unexplored segments. As such, the Editions are an exciting peek into the latest of what’s coming from our studio, showcasing and demonstrating how creators can play with our textiles in various product scenario’s, enabling them to reach for better production and manufacturing.
During my time at BYBORRE I had the pleasure to capture 5 Editions, from concepting and directing the photoshoot to delivery of the assets like lookbooks and showroom collateral.

From the early days the love for materials has made it a necessity to develop items from the yarn up. Only then we can stay in control of the whole process, allowing ourselves to make conscious decisions and take responsibility for our actions. As the BYBORRE studio houses a full ecosystem with a yarn library, knitting and innovation Lab, a fully outfitted atelier, a team of specialists and experts and the BYBORRE archive with endless amounts of crazy textiles, we can do everything in-house.
The BYBORRE identity reflects this systemised and creative playground.
